Living Well Today
Michael Payne has helped over 2000 children worldwide with Autism Spectrum Disorders improve their quality of health. He believes that each child has a different story. After working with so many children, Michael has found that rarely does one strict protocol solve something as complex as autism. Being well versed in many protocols, Michael is able to help you navigate through the complexities that each protocol brings to find the right mix for your child.
Autism Treatment Forum of Austin
Free monthly meetings of parents and others interested in the dietary, nutritional, and bio-medical treatment of autism spectrum disorders. Meetings often have speakers.
Bioray
Bioray‘s NDF Plus is a Natural Heavy Metal & Chemical Detox that can be used in the protocol for treatment of Autism Spectrum Disorder. Listen to our interview with Stephanie Ray of BioRay here - coming soon - and to talk to a doctor online and receive support for this type of protocol, click here.
Special Note:
We believe that children who develop Autism Spectrum Disorder are like the "canaries in a coal mine" and are a wake up call to all of us that our environment has become overly-toxic. We have seen many autistic children who are detoxified from heavy metals improve so much that they are no longer labeled as autistic. The work that the clinics listed above are doing for these children and their families cannot be lauded enough.
Financial Assistance:
Click here for a brief article on this topic written by Dianne Doggett, Coordinator of the Autism Treatment Forum here in Austin. This local forum holds monthly educational meetings open to the general public. To learn more, visit: www.autism.meetup.com/229/ or our Events Calendar page.
Vaccines:
Many people believe that vaccines play a big role in causing autism. We strongly advocate patient self-education. If you are seeking further education on this topic, we suggest that you may begin with a book we carry in our stores entitled, "What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Children‘s Vaccinations," by Stephanie Cave, MD, FAAFP. This book gives the pros and cons of vaccinating, has a sample delayed vaccination schedule and gives tips for preventative and precautionary measures you can take both pre- and post- vaccinations, should you decide to vaccinate your child. For a more in-depth, technical (and perhaps overwhelming) look into vaccine issues, we also recommend as a follow-up, the video entitled "Vaccines: The Risks, The Benefits, The Choices," by Dr. Sherri J. Tenpenny, MD. It comes with a guidebook and is also carried in our stores.
Contrary to popular belief, children in the state of Texas do not need to be vaccinated to attend public schools. Any parent can request an "Exemption for Reasons of Conscience" and submit this document to the school in lieu of vaccination records. To find out more about this easy process, visit the Texas Department of State Health Services website here.
For more online, well-rounded information on vaccines, visit www.VaccineInfo.net or the National Vaccine Information Center website.
Mercury Fillings:
You may have dental amalgams containing mercury in your mouth right now, causing health issues for you that you may be unaware of. If you would like to know more about the health risks of such amalgams, you can visit the International Academy of Oral Medicine & Toxicology website (which has a short "Smoking Teeth" video) and you can read one of our practitioner‘s articles, "The Hazards of Neglecting Dental Health." One good book on the subject is called, "It‘s All In Your Head," by Hal Huggins.
Lead Pharmacist and Certified Clinical Nutritionist at our Lakeline location, Ray Solano, has researched this topic extensively. Feel free to call him with your questions or concerns at (512) 219-9499.
