What is compounding?
Compounding is the preparation of customized medications prescribed by a licensed practitioner. Compounding can provide medications that are dye-free, preservative-free, sugar-free, alcohol-free, and lactose/gluten/wheat-free for patients with allergies or other sensitivities. Medications can be made in different strengths and dosage forms, tailored specifically to meet the needs of the patient (or pet!).
